Sleeping makes us feel better. Getting enough sleep is key to living a healthy lifestyle. Here are some important benefits. If the talk of sleeping makes you sleepy take a warm nap in one of our sunbeds☺
No Ostrich Pillow required. LOL
4. Cut back on Inflammation – More and more research is linking inflammation to heart disease, arthritis, diabetes and premature aging. People who get less than 6 hours of sleep a night have higher blood levels of inflammatory proteins than those people who get more than 6 hours of sleep. Recent research puts C-reactive protein, associated with heart attack risk, was higher in people who sleep less than 6 hours.
5. Increase your attention span – Dr. Rappoport says that when adults are sleep deprived they get sleepy but kids tend to get hyperactive. Kids who got less than 8 hours of sleep a night were more likely to be hyperactive, inattentive and impulsive.
6. Improve your grades – Dr. Rappoport also states “severe and reoccurring sleep deprivation that clearly impairs learning.” College students who didn’t get enough sleep had lower grades than those students who did.
