HOMEMADE FACIAL MASK RECIPES
For all masks try these tips:
- Once a mask is dry wet a washcloth with warm water and press it to your face to loosen the mask, then rinse with warm water. Avoid hot or cold water.
- If your skin is sensitive avoid rubbing your face to remove the mask.
- Most do-it-yourself masks only last one day so avoid storing them in the fridge.
Unclog those pores with only 2 ingredients!
—Take equal parts Bentonite Clay and Apple Cider Vinegar and mix together in a non-metallic bowl. You don’t need much – a couple tablespoons of each. Apply all of it equally to your face, avoiding the eye area and leave it on for 10-20 minutes depending on your skin sensitivity. You may experience a little redness but this should fade in under an hour. If you’re still not sure – test another area of your skin that is less conspicuous.
Hydrate and tighten pores with an Avocado & Egg White Face Mask
—This is a messy mask so it’s best applied while laying down!
Combine 1 ripe avocado (pitted, peeled and mashed), 1 egg white, 1 tsp. lemon juice. Apply liberally to your face avoiding the eye area for 20 minutes. Rinse and follow up with your usual beauty routine.
Banish puffiness and wake up dull skin with a Coffee and Cocoa Face Mask.
—Mix very finely ground coffee beans and unsweetened cocoa powder, 4 Tbsp. each. Add in 8 Tbsp. of any dairy product (yogurt, whole milk, heavy cream, almond milk or coconut milk). If you have dry skin use 2 Tbsp. honey (slightly warmed) or use lemon juice if you have oily skin. Use less dairy if you want a thicker mask. Apply the mask to your clean face and neck and let dry completely.
