In this 5 part series we are highlighting some of the most powerful foods that are really powerful medicines. Yes, I said medicines. Since time immemorial we have been using these 5 medicinal plants to both nourish and prevent/treat diseases.
The amazing part is you won’t need to travel to health food stores to get them; some are even in our own backyards.
So far we’ve been focused on plants (foods) but in this segment we are going to the source and that is Sunlight. Sunlight possesses both energy and information with real, metabolic value and there is therefore a source of useable energy for our bodies.
Our largest organ is our skin and we consume sunlight like food through our skin. Now that our skin is like our own personal solar panels we produce Vitamin D. Vitamin D is a hormone-like substance that regulates over 2,000 genes in our body so the ‘eating’ of sunlight prevents hundreds of Vitamin D deficiency associated health conditions.
Vitamin D is not the only byproduct of sunlight! The Journal of Anticancer Research, showed that there was “a strong inverse correlations with solar UVB for 15 types of cancer, with weaker, though still significant evidence for the productive role of sunlight in 9 other cancers.” That is amazing!
Other additional benefits of sunlight exposure are:
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Dopamine Deficiency
- Multiple Sclerosis
